Job Overview THE CITY OF EL CAJON IS LOOKING FOR ENTRY-LEVEL PARAMEDIC FIREFIGHTERS. Pay rates are calculated based on full time, non-probationary experience as a Paramedic Firefighter: Educational Incentive Pay is available to employees who possess a college degree in a job-related field upon date of hire: Associate's Degree: 2.5% salary increase Bachelor's Degree: 5% salary increase THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS: Interested applicants must submit and complete the online application and supplemental questionnaire by the application deadline. Typical Duties Please visit the City of El Cajon website for the full job description: Paramedic/Firefighter Qualification Guidelines Education: Educational achievement equivalent to graduation from high school. Experience: None required. Special Requirements: Possession of or ability to obtain, prior to employment, a valid Class C California driver's license with a safe driving record. Must obtain a minimum of a Class C California driver's license with a Firefighter Endorsement prior to completion of two years. Possession of State of California Paramedic License with San Diego County accreditation and basic CPR certificate (Must be maintained as a condition of employment). Additional Information The 2025-2026 County of San Diego EMS protocols will be used during the Appraisal Interview and Paramedic Skills Assessment.
