<p>Reporting to Director of Finance, dotted line to Project Controls Manager</p><p><br></p><p>Position Overview</p><p><br></p><p>Blue Moon Metals is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Project Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting projects by ensuring accurate financial tracking, reporting, and compliance. This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of financial integrity. </p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Monitor and manage project budgets, commitments, expenditures accruals and change orders, ensuring accurate financial tracking and reporting variances to key stakeholders.</li><li>Prepare and analyze monthly project financial reports, including forecasts and cost-to-complete analyses.</li><li>Assist in preparing quarterly and annual group financial reporting packages and supporting schedules.</li><li>Support project budget updates, reforecasts and financial presentations for senior management and project teams.</li><li>Work with EPCM contractors, to understand vendor work schedules, progress billings, change orders and contract compliance. </li><li>Review contractor purchase orders, change orders and invoices to ensure proper coding and accuracy of records in the ERP system</li><li>Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes for projects, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, payments, and reconciliations.</li><li>Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to ensure proper documentation and adherence to contractual obligations.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of all project transactions in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Support internal and external audit processes related to project financials.</li><li>Identify opportunities for process improvements within project accounting functions and recommend best practices.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation or progress towards is preferred.</li><li>Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in project accounting or a similar role.</li><li>Demonstrated proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g. SAP, IFS, Oracle, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.</li><li>Strong understanding of EPCM contracts and project financial management principles in a project construction environment</li><li>Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.</li><li>Ability to communicate financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.</li><li>Experience working in the metals, mining, or industrial sectors is an asset.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Core Competencies</strong></p><ul><li>Attention to detail and accuracy</li><li>Integrity and ethical conduct</li><li>Effective time management and prioritization</li><li>Adaptability and willingness to learn</li><li>Teamwork and collaboration</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Pay range and compensation package</strong></p><p>Compensation details will be discussed during the interview process.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Equal Opportunity Statement</strong></p><p>We are committed to diversity and inclusivity in our hiring practices and encourage applications from all qualified individuals.</p>
