Overview

Worldwide Operations Security (WWOS) is the global organization that supports field security and loss prevention across Amazon’s worldwide operations, affiliate and retail businesses.

A Day in the Life

As a Security and Loss Prevention Specialist, you will join a team of professionals providing security as a service to business customers across multiple business units within a dedicated geographic area. You will perform regular physical security audits and investigate policy violations, security‑related incidents, and loss events. Your findings help identify vulnerabilities and you will contribute to developing mitigating measures. You will also act as a point of contact for various internal and external departments and deliver loss prevention‑related education and awareness programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct confidential investigations and prepare written reports of theft, fraud, and critical incidents.
  • Identify vulnerabilities and define mitigating actions while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Serve as department liaison and security/crisis management subject‑matter expert for site leadership.
  • Develop strategies for alarm reduction and conduct system diagnostics for problematic devices.
  • Travel domestically up to 25% of the time when applicable.
  • Lift up to 49 pounds; stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts; work in variable temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

WWOS creates and maintains a secure work environment through policy development, training, technology implementation, risk mitigation, and compliance auditing.

Basic Qualifications
  • High school or equivalent diploma.
  • 2+ years of blue badge Amazon experience or 1+ year in security service, loss prevention, asset protection, investigations, law enforcement, operations, or Loss Prevention Qualified Career Choice Graduate.
  • 1+ year of experience using Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Experience in workplace incident mitigation, de‑escalation, and Business Continuity planning.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience making and influencing decisions using data and metrics.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, multi‑tasking environment.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, networking, and influence skills across all business levels.
  • 1+ year of leadership or management and/or supply chain experience.
  • Investigative interviewing experience or related certifications (e.g., Certified Protection Professional, Certified Forensic Interviewer).
  • Experience in physical security system maintenance/implementation and coordination with security vendors.
Compensation

The base pay for this position ranges from $44,200 per year in the lowest geographic market to $72,600 per year in the highest geographic market. Pay is based on numerous factors including location and may vary with job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may also be offered as part of the total compensation package.
