Key Responsibilities (What You'll Achieve)

  • Provide truly unparalleled, customized one-on-one and small group instruction in Science, covering the curriculum spectrum for Grades 7 through 10 (Biology, Chemistry, Physics concepts).
  • Accurately assess the unique learning needs and challenges of each student and curate dynamic lesson plans that foster a deep, conceptual understanding of core scientific principles and inquiry methods.
  • Deliver captivating and highly interactive virtual tutoring sessions using various digital whiteboard tools and educational resources.
  • Systematically monitor students' accelerated progress and provide specific, constructive feedback to rapidly enhance their science skills and confidence.
  • Collaborate professionally and effectively with staff and other teachers to ensure comprehensive support for all student success initiatives.
  • Remain strictly current with the latest Ontario curriculum standards (or equivalent Canadian/US curricula) and innovative, best educational practices in Science instruction.

Candidate Profile (Let's Talk About You)

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Science, Education, Engineering, or a closely related quantitative field.
  • Proven experience as a remote tutor or teacher, demonstrating the ability to independently develop comprehensive and effective lesson materials.
  • Strong knowledge of the Grades 7-10 Science curriculum (Canadian or US) and proven effective teaching methods.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, paired with a genuine enthusiasm for inspiring student engagement in complex scientific subjects.
  • Proven ability to create an engaging, stimulating, and supportive online learning atmosphere that encourages students to excel academically.
  • A patient and deeply empathetic approach to instruction, allowing you to cater effectively to diverse learning styles with ease.
  • Flexibility to accommodate students' varied schedules, including necessary availability during weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
