Job Description

As a Remote Podcast Community Moderator at Spotify, you will play a crucial role in fostering and maintaining a positive, engaging, and safe environment for our podcast listeners and creators across various digital platforms. You will be the voice of Spotify, ensuring our community guidelines are upheld, facilitating discussions, and escalating critical issues to relevant teams. This role requires excellent communication skills, a deep understanding of online community dynamics, and a passion for podcasts and audio content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and moderate user-generated content across Spotify's podcast community forums, social media channels, and in-app discussion features.
  • Respond to user inquiries, comments, and feedback in a timely and professional manner, embodying Spotify's brand voice.
  • Enforce community guidelines and terms of service, taking appropriate action against violations (e.g., removing offensive content, issuing warnings, banning users).
  • Identify and escalate critical issues, trends, and sentiment to internal teams including content, safety, and product development.
  • Actively engage with community members to foster positive interactions, encourage participation, and build a sense of belonging.
  • Organize and facilitate online events, Q&A sessions, and discussions related to podcasts and audio content.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and content teams to amplify promotional campaigns and gather community insights.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of moderation policies and community engagement strategies.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in online community management or social media moderation (3+ years).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong understanding of online safety, privacy, and community best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
  • Proficiency with various social media platforms and community management tools.
  • Passion for podcasts, audio content, and the digital media landscape.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Experience with crisis management or conflict resolution in an online setting.
  • Familiarity with Spotify's platform and its ecosystem of creators and listeners.
