Wicker Smith is currently seeking an Experienced Nurse Consultant in our Coral Gables office. This individual will assist attorneys by providing nursing support services on complex legal files.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Review Medical records to assess appropriateness of treatment
Review and organize Medical records
Analyze medical records to evaluate care and status of the claimant
Retain and coordinate with medical experts
Draft medical summaries
Draft letters summarizing expert opinions and may perform additional duties as assigned.


Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:


Ideal candidate would be a nurse with practical experience working in one of the following medical settings: hospital or nursing home or House Physician; Hospitalist; Physician's Assistant and prior law firm consulting experience.

A person with the skill sets to be able to review medical records and offer insight into liability and causation issues and help with the defense strategy.

Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and other business related software systems
Excellent organizational skills including ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks
Ability to work with and maintain confidential information
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be proficient reading and writing English including professional phone etiquette.


Education & Experience:
Nursing degree and prior nurse consultant litigation experience is not necessary, but recommended
