Responsible for project planning, resource management and leading cross-functional and global engineering teams to evaluate structural performance of Large Mining, Construction and Earthmoving machine systems and components using advanced numerical analysis methods. Serve as a technical expert, mentor and coach to provide guidance on product design issues such as material selection, durability, reliability, cost and quality. Participate in pre-test planning, on-machine testing, post-test analysis, and design validation and optimization activities. Collaborate with experts and practitioners to explore emerging technologies, develop new innovative procedures and continuously improve current processes and tools. Responsible for managing own development, continuously learning through experience new business knowledge and skills. REQS: This position requires a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field and 4 years of experience leading and managing projects involving analysis, design, testing, and validation of Heavy mining, Construction, off-highway, Earthmoving machine products or related occupation. Alternatively, the employer will accept: This position requires a Bachelor’s, degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field and 6 years of experience leading and managing projects involving analysis, design, testing, and validation of Heavy mining, Construction, off-highway, Earthmoving machine products or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) 2 years of experience with Large Mining Mechanical and Electric drive Truck, Off-highway Truck and Wheel Tractor Scraper Machine structural systems and linkages; (2) 2 years of Nonlinear Finite Element Analysis experience in resolving complex structural failure issues of Heavy Frames/Chassis and Lower powertrain Structures like Differentials, Axles, Rim, and Wheels; (3) 4 years of experience in Structural response dynamics analysis and correlation; (4) 2 years of Multibody dynamics simulation experience using ADAMS, Dynasty or equivalent; (5) 4 years of experience in Pre-test planning, instrumentation, and post-test data processing and correlation using MATLAB, DATK or equivalent; (6) 4 years of experience in using ABAQUS (Implicit/Explicit), NSTRAN, HYPERMESH or equivalent; (7) 4 years of experience using CREO or equivalent; and (8) Python or any other programming language. Travel: Up to 10% of domestic travel to testing, research and manufacturing facilities, proving grounds, internal and external conferences.
