In this remote role, you will provide crucial engineering services and support to enhance delivery performance within the Casting supply base for Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC).<br><br>Key responsibilities include:<br><ul><li>Conducting in-depth investigations at casting suppliers' facilities to identify areas for improvement.</li><li>Collaborating with suppliers to develop and implement action plans aimed at improving product yield, quality, and delivery performance.</li><li>Monitoring progress on action plans and publishing detailed progress reports throughout the process.</li></ul><br>To excel in this role, you should bring:<br><ul><li>Expertise in casting process engineering, particularly with a strong background in solidification modeling.</li><li>Exceptional interpersonal skills, enabling you to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders.</li></ul><br><br><b>This is a remote position requiring a high degree of flexibility, with approximately 50% travel to support the role's responsibilities.</b><br><br>Join us in driving innovation and excellence within Pratt & Whitney Canada's supply chain.<br><br><b>Key Responsibilities:</b><br><br>Supplier Support to Improve Delivery Performance<br><ul><li>Utilize solidification modeling tools such as Procast and/or Magmasoft to enhance yield and improve supplier performance.</li><li>Conduct on-site visits and engage remotely with suppliers to address technical and process challenges, working collaboratively on root cause analysis and corrective actions to reduce quality issues and improve yield.</li><li>Collaborate with suppliers and P&WC Engineering to resolve issues related to design requirements, casting process changes, and tooling modifications.</li><li>Provide engineering input for any necessary changes to improve casting yield.</li><li>Facilitate the transition of new part requirements with suppliers to align with part incorporation plans, identifying risks and developing contingency plans to meet production requirements.</li><li>Travel to U.S. supplier locations will be required approximately 50% of the time.</li></ul><br><br>Capacity Assessment<br><ul><li>Partner with suppliers to evaluate current and future capacity requirements for both existing and new P&WC parts.</li><li>Assess supplier capacity to meet demand profiles, including any surge capacity requested by P&WC.</li><li>Identify and communicate risks to meeting demand, escalating issues to P&WC as necessary.</li><li>Collaborate with suppliers to develop capacity gap closure actions and implementation plans, providing support for execution as needed.</li></ul><br><br>Design Standard Work<br><ul><li>Review P&WC's current standard work for casting design best practices and offer recommendations to enhance processes.</li><li>Partner with P&WC to update and refine the casting design manual to reflect improved practices and standards.</li></ul><br><br>This role requires a proactive approach to supplier collaboration, technical expertise in casting processes, and a commitment to driving improvements in quality, delivery, and capacity to support Pratt & Whitney Canada's objectives.<br><br><b>Qualifications You Must Have:</b><br><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 8+ years of experience in casting mold gating design, solidification modeling, or aerospace casting specifications for airfoil and structural castings, OR a Master's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience.</li><li>U.S. Citizenship is required due to government contract obligations.</li></ul><br><br><b>Qualifications We Prefer:</b><br><ul><li>Bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Foundry Engineering.</li><li>10+ years prior experience in casting mold gating design, solidification modeling, or aerospace casting specifications for airfoil and structural castings</li><li>Certification as a user of solidification modeling software such as Procast and/or Magmasoft.</li><li>Prior experience with 3D design software, including Solidworks and/or CATIA.</li></ul><br><br>What is my role type? The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
