Job Title: Hydrovac Truck Driver (Permanent Full-Time)
Location: Quebec City, QC
Salary: $70,000 first year (depending on hustle / workload could go higher)
Schedule: Monday to Friday

NOTE: Please read the details carefully, you must be a Union Member of the CCQ.

MGR Workforce is hiring experienced Hydrovac Truck Drivers for permanent positions in East Montreal. This role is unionized, so you must already be a Union Member of the CCQ . The work is a mix of driving and manual labour, and you'll need to be comfortable speaking conversational French on job sites. The job involves 60-70% of manual work, this is NOT a sitting and driving job.

What You'll Do

  • Operate the Hydrovac truck for daylighting, trenching, slot trenching, and debris removal.
  • Use high-pressure water and the vacuum system to safely expose underground utilities.
  • Work around pipelines, gas lines, telecom, hydro and other buried infrastructure.
  • Drive the Hydrovac truck to and from sites while following all route and traffic rules.
  • Set up the truck, secure the work area and follow site-specific safety procedures.
  • Inspect the truck and equipment, report issues and perform basic maintenance.
  • Follow utility locating rules and work with supervisors, locators and contractors to confirm safe dig areas.
  • Complete daily paperwork, digital logs and pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Handle physical tasks such as moving hoses and equipment.
  • Work outdoors in all weather.
  • Communicate clearly with the crew and client reps while maintaining a professional presence on site.

What You Need

  • Valid Quebec Class 1 or Class 3 license with air brake endorsement.
  • 4+ years of steady experience as a Hydrovac Truck Driver.
  • Clean abstract and CVOR.
  • Ability to pass employer-provided drug and alcohol testing.
  • CCQ union membership.
  • Conversational French is mandatory (not just few words of French)
  • Being bilingual in French-English is a strong asset
  • Reliable, punctual and comfortable doing manual work for most of the shift (about 70 percent).
