Job Overview

Responsibilities

  • Support attorneys and senior paralegals with case management across multiple legal disciplines in the Trust and Estate field of law.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research to gather pertinent information for case preparation.
  • Assist in drafting legal documents with precision and attention to detail.
  • Review and organize legal documents for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Manage case files using document management systems like Clio and NYSCEF; ensure all records are current and properly stored.
  • Perform data entry tasks related to case information, client records, and court filings while maintaining high levels of accuracy.
  • Coordinate communication among team members by managing calendars, scheduling meetings or interviews with clients or witnesses, and maintaining professional phone etiquette.
  • Assist with administrative duties such as filing, organizing case materials, preparing reports, and supporting project management initiatives.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Proven paralegal experience with familiarity in the Trust and Estate field of law (will train the right person - the right person being someone with solid paralegal experience of at least five years and holding grand attention to detail).
  • Strong legal research skills utilizing Westlaw or similar platforms.
  • Experience with legal case management software such as Clio or comparable systems; proficiency in document review and management is essential.
  • Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence that are clear and accurate.
  • Demonstrated ability to proofread meticulously and perform tasks efficiently.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills including professional phone etiquette and client interview techniques.
  • Administrative experience supporting a company environment; familiarity with clerical tasks like filing and data entry is required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team of paralegals and attorneys in a fast-paced setting while demonstrating initiative.
